your ability to connect
consciously calming your breathing
with feelings of comfort and relaxation
which spread through your body
and thinking
and becoming
quite comfortably clear headedly alert --
while
more and more comfortably relaxed --
both physically and emotionally --
whenever
you simply take the time
to focus on
and calm
your breathing…

It can be to your advantage
to notice that
everybody has the ability
to "tune out"
thoughts or experiences
there is no practical value
to "tune in" to.

Every body "tunes out"
all sorts of things,
like how your toes feel
or your tongue or teeth
(at least till somebody mentions)
[pause]
And you don't need
to understand
how that you do that
to do that
[pause]
remembering to forget
to remember to remember
to forget
whatever is in
your best interest
for as long as it is
in your best interest.
